About us

Burgundy Squadron was established at the start 2023 out of the need for a club with a focus on secondary and background, denizen focused characters. We created our catch phrase "We are everyone and no one" to denote we can be simple everyday denizens, fighting the empire, while hiding in plain sight. This is now a sentiment that rhymes with the popular, "I have friends everywhere."

 

We created a home for original characters who love the visual language of Star Wars but want to create something wholly original. We house everything from merchants to mercenaries, scoundrels to spies and pilots to Partisans. We have members who have created characters who lead complex double lives and others who are lowly market stall denizens. 

 

Our membership requirements dictate we maintain a "set-ready" look adhering to the tenets of the visual language but also require fully realized written backstories to breathe depth to grounded original characters.

 

Burgundy Squadron stands for inclusivity in and out of costume. We champion those who stand up for the rights of marginalized groups. We reject hatred, bigotry, and oppression in all forms, be it outright or dogwhistled. We do not condone harrasment or hate speech. Many of us are outspoken and use our voices and actions to defend those who are most at risk. If you can't abide by that, this is not the place for you.

 

We are a "no AI" community and prohibit the use of generative AI for image and story submissions. We also bar the use in our discord server.
