El’beth has always been the observer. She observes the everyday. She observes extraordinary.
Now, she observes the atrocities of the Empire.
El’beth wants to help worlds that have been devastated by the Empire and travels to planets to help to reverse, or at least stop, any ecological disasters brought about my mining or extensive farming, with the help of a tinker of droids.
While helping these worlds, she collects all information she can about the Empire from the affected people and recruits anyone willing.
Kaivokka left Kashyyyk at a young age. Not because he had to, but because he wanted to see what was out there. He trained as a mechanic and found work on fringe worlds, in the kind of repair bays that don’t advertise. Ships that had been pushed too hard. Droids that nobody wanted to deal with anymore. He preferred droid work, but he could get just about any piece of junk running again if he had to. He got good at fixing things that other people had written off. His repairs weren’t pretty, but they held. He never stripped a droid down further than it needed to function. As far as he was concerned, they carried memory, and that meant something to the way he treated the droids he fixed.
When the Empire started making life complicated for Wookiees (checkpoints, restrictions, the kind of attention that Kaivokka wanted to avoid), staying put stopped being an option. He kept moving, kept working, and most importantly kept his head down. It wasn’t a dramatic decision. He’d seen what happened when Imperials showed up somewhere - what they took, what they left behind. He didn’t need to stay to see what they’d do.
Born in the turbulent times of the galactic civil war just before the destruction of his homeland was destroyed by the empire, Nevik grew up on a space freighter designed for interstellar cartography. His parents were conscripted by the empire to explore and chart new hyperspace pathways between outer rim systems specifically to find quick pathways to sniff out the Rebels and gain the jump on them without taxing their own fleet to do the task.
Not often standing on any planet or system for too long, Nevik occupied his childhood in repairing and tinkering with grandfathers hydrospanner. Becoming adept with tools aboard a ship that was constantly under repair. When the second Death Star was destroyed, so was the end of the contract with the Empire for Nevik’s family. This source of income loss was devastating to the family, leaving them without jobs and penny-less. Their family space freighter was abandoned on Jakku among the wreckage of multiple Galactic Star Cruisers at the end of the rein of the empire. Nevik’s formative years was one of civil unrest and tragedy.
Due to his experience aboard the cartographer vessel and vast knowledge of systems, Nevik serves as an asset to those of the Resistance. Knowing every cubbyhole across the galaxy, he can hide away or provide this service to anyone as a way of aiding safe travels to the New Republic. His love of antiquity and ability to repair is also an asset to the Resistance since their tech and Droids are far from State of the Art. Nevik has built himself some Droid companions with a discarded Pit Droid from a Pod Racing industry that dried up many years ago as well as his personal GNK that powers his welders and power banks needed to do repairs. Between his tools, droids, and practical knowledge of hyperspace travel, Nevik aids Burgundy Squadron in practical and unique ways.
Zena is the “deviant” daughter of Imperial loyalist. She started getting into trouble at a young age, passing locations of Imperial fuel centers to the Rebellion for fun. After crashing several speeders, she learned to be more covert in her “trouble making”, and discovered that she preferred flying something a bit bigger than a speeder. In her 20’s she was married off in an attempt to advance her brother’s political career and Moff aspirations. Much to her family’s dismay, her husband was more fixated on embezzlement than helping their plotting. Disgusted with it all, she divorced and left with her 3 kids. She now works as a test pilot for a Corellian luxury liner company testing out their prototype ships. Her boss cautiously hired her, placing her low enough that he wouldn’t get in trouble if someone disliked it; but high enough to not upset anyone either. Working several side jobs because they’re fun. She can also be found occasionally smuggling or running covert ops when her kids aren’t home.
Born on Corellia at the fall of the Republic, L-rak lived a modest life with his brother, Corr, and their parents. After his mother was killed during a labor dispute involving the Empire, his father was convinced the Rebels were responsible and joined the Imperial ranks.
Without many options available to them, L-rak and his brother enlisted in the academy when they were old enough. Before graduating, L-rak served as a test pilot in the advanced technology division at Sienar Fleet Systems. He knew his talents were being wasted and couldn't continue being a part of the Empire’s oppression any longer. He coordinated with Rebel Intelligence to stage an accident, providing a smokescreen for him and his brother to disappear.
L-rak has since become an accomplished starship racer, notably winning the Five Sabers Championship on Theron in a heavily modified RZ-1 designed by his brother.
Alongside his astromech, G0-S3 ("Goose"), L-rak uses his career to travel the galaxy, raising funds for the Rebellion and smuggling sensitive information. By hiding in plain sight and infiltrating various social networks, he has become a dependable resource for delivering high-level intelligence at exceptional speeds.
Corr, born and raised on Corellia during the rise of the Empire lived with his brother L-rak and their parents. Tragically their mother was killed during a labor dispute when they were young. Their father joined the Empire seeking his revenge convinced a Rebel was behind it. Never a pilot himself Corr always had a passion for starship design. He's always been drawn to the balance of beauty and power in cruisers and starfighters. Unfortunately his only opportunity to live his dream was to join the academy and get work with Sienar Fleet Systems designing horrible war machines for the Empire.
Corr hated what he had become, he hated how the Empire took everything from him and yet was the only one who could give him even a sliver of a chance to live his dream of designing and engineering starships. He put so much effort into his work, maybe the one good thing his father had engrained in him. It haunted him with every rotation that his passion was being used by the Empire for evil. Him and his brother L-rak, with the help of rebel intelligence were freed from the Empire. No longer was he a slave to the empire and their oppression.
Using his extensive knowledge of starship design and engineering he now spends his life traveling the galaxy contracted by various racing teams. This allows him to reunite with his brother L-rak once in awhile, and he's able to meet with rebel cells to assist in ship modifications and designs. Corr may not be designing the most beautiful starships like he always dreamed, but the work he's doing helps the Rebellion fight back, is the most beautiful thing he's ever done.
Born on Uba IV in 30 BBY, Oto Osa was a crewman on cargo ships and haulers as one of the few Ubese chosen for rare off-world trade. But desperation bred rebellion. In 4 BBY, Oto attempted to hijack an off-world transport carrying weapons. Terrified of disrupting their lucrative black-market trade, the leaders of Uba IV exiled him. Banished, Oto took on rough contract jobs on long-haul freighters. Exploited, underpaid, and despised, the galaxy showed no love for an Ubese. The breaking point came aboard a freighter bound for an Imperial refinery, its holds heavy with valuable gallium. Fueled by years of mistreatment, Oto joined a violent mutiny alongside a desperate crew of alien outcasts. They seized the vessel and diverted it to the smuggling haven of Takodana.
After selling the ship and cargo, the mutineers saw a new path to living freely, intergalactic piracy. After acquiring a new ship they recruited displaced and disenfranchised Outer Rim aliens. By the dawn of the Galactic Civil War, the crew had evolved into a lethal pack of corsairs specializing in brutal, close-quarters boarding actions, expanding their fleet one captured hull at a time. They bled Imperial supply lines and Rebel shipping routes alike. Recognizing a weapon they could aim, the Rebels offered a deal. In exchange for upfront credits and full salvage rights to captured Imperial prizes, the crew agreed to a conditional ceasefire. It was good business for the time being.
Taking the name "Blood Sun", they tore through imperial routes, and Oto realized physical cargo was only half the prize. Ripping encrypted data-logs from burning Imperial ships, they sold intelligence to both the Rebel Alliance and the shadowy spy network known as Burgundy Squadron. Data became another currency, cementing a profitable alliance between freedom fighters, partisans, and the galaxy’s most ruthless outcasts.
He grew up on Corellia, the son of an engineer with the CEC. Kyr attended the Imperial Academy on Coruscant before being chosen for service in the ISB. He proved himself time and again rising quickly through the ranks. Then one day he walked away in the middle of a mission and disappeared only to turn up months later as part of the Rebellion. After the victory at Endor he left to figure out his own path. Eventually old comrades reached out for him to bring his experience and skills to the Burgundy Squadron. He doesn’t talk much about his days with the Empire, but you may get lucky and hear a tale from the old days.
Kaida Aeries was born on Lothal, raised on a farm, and put to work selling goods in the market for her parents.
When the Empire invaded, her family lost their farm to an imperial mining operation. Kaida began working the streets for information to broker and credits to get by.
During the year 5 bby, Kaida caught wind of a successful heist on Aldhani. She followed the whispers until it led her to the rebel group Burgundy Squadron, where she knew she could put the skills she learned as an information broker to much better use.
Born 29 BBY and raised on Corulag. He was 7 when the Clone Wars began and was awestruck by holo vids of Republic troops taking on and defeating Separatist forces. Soren would wonder what stories the clones and members of the Republic's defense forces could tell.
During his youth he had always been assured that the Empire, just as the Republic before, was always acting in the best interest of the galaxy and was the only thing protecting those who live and served under the Empire from those who wished to do it harm. The rumors of cruelty and injustice were just that, rumors; that within the dark corners of the galaxy, horrible rebel outliers were spreading misinformation in hopes to facture the protective walls of the Empire. So when Soren came of age, he enrolled in the Imperial Academy on Corulag.
When he graduated, he set out hoping to protect those in the name in the Empire, but over the years, he instead found him self apart of intimidation campaigns and oppression. He still believed in the idea of what he thought the Empire stood for, what the Republic had stood for, but this wasn't it. He began to understand the distaste for the Empire and believe the rumors he had heard years before.
One night, while on patrol with his lieutenant, Soren came across a homeless child, alone and out past curfew, hugging their chest. Soren gave them a smile and asked them to move their arms. Reluctantly, they complied, revealing a toy droid. Soren gave them a wink and waved them on despite it being contraband. Soren's lieutenant stepped in, drawing his blaster, and demanded the child to drop it. Soren began defending the child and took blame. An argument erupted. Soren, having reached his breaking point, struck the office, resulting in the Officers weapon firing, missing Soren, and striking the child. Soren drew his weapon and killed the officer. Taking the child's toy droid as a memento, Soren fled. He can now be found wandering the outer rim looking for security and mercenary work, providing people with the protection he'd always intended. Half price for jobs against Imperials.
Born amid the chaos & uncertainty of Raxus Secundus, right after the formation of the Galactic Empire. His early years were tumultuous, marked by the stark contrast between the war-ravaged landscapes and the opulent political elites of Raxus. At 14, he left his home, diving deeper into the underworld, refining his skills in slicing and code breaking. The Kanjiclub saw potential in his elusive talents and recruited him. He soon became one of the most sought-after slicers on the holonet.
With the formation of the New Republic, Kai seized opportunities among the chaos, amassing a fortune in credits. He acquired “The Prospect,” a Y2K Corellian small freighter, and an astromech 3M-PTY, or “Empty” as he liked to call it. At the age of 46, his path intersected with a Kowakian monkey-lizard on Tatooine, which he rescued from a pack of Anooba. This monkey-lizard, named Bizzle or Bizz, became his companion, assisting him with slicing and offering companionship in his lone travels.
Around the same time, Kai began running jobs for the First Order, his motives intertwined with reputation and profit. However, at 49, he witnessed something that fundamentally altered his perspective. He saw the chilling abduction of innocent children and their subsequent brainwashing by the First Order. He could handle a lot of things, but crimes against children is where he drew the line.
Haunted by the echoes of his past and the visions of torment, he started to question his existence, his role in this vast, complex universe. It was a turning point for Kai, leading him to abandon the criminal life and wander the galaxy a shell of who he was until meeting Commander Maddox who offered Kai a spot in the Burgundy Squadron as a way of finding redemption and meaning in fighting against oppression. Kai then traveled back to Batuu, aiding Vi, the spy he once hunted for the First Order, in acquiring critical intel on the First Order’s activities in that sector. Each mission, each alliance, became a step towards redemption, a beacon of hope in his journey through the shadows and lights of the galaxy.
